Born in 1944, I received my B.A. from Amherst College in 1967 and my M.D. from Boston University in 1972. I was board certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians in 1976. I started practice in Greenfield ,MA in 1975 and was a founding partner of Pioneer Family Physicians in Greenfield in 1976 and a founding member of the Permanente Medical Group of MA in 1987, now the Valley Medical Group. I retired from the Valley Medical Group in 2006 and then served two terms on the Prudential Committee of the Turners Falls Fire District in Montague from 2006 to 2013.
Since retirement I have been enjoying woodlot management at my home in Montague and our summer residence in Marlow, NH, establishing hiking trails, landscaping and stone wall building. I have volunteered in the stewardship program for the FLT and as chair of the lake water testing for Sand Pond in Marlow, NH. My wife and I were the donors of a conservation restriction on 24 acres in Marlow, NH to the Ashuelot River Headwaters project of the Society for Protection of New Hampshire Forests.
