Nina Anderson Coler was born and raised in Buckland, MA, graduated from Mohawk Regional High and UMass in Amherst. There she majored in Dance. Leaving the area after that with her high school sweetheart, Ron Coler, they married, had two children and lived and worked in many different areas of the country, but always in densely populated places. Upon returning to Western Mass in 1996, where they built an off the grid home in Ashfield, she found an even deeper commitment to this rural area. Nina was always involved in volunteering wherever she lived, so she was happy to get involved with the Franklin Land Trust as both a board member and as a volunteer. She works with many other civic groups as well. Nina is an accomplished water color artist. Her paintings can be found in homes around the world. Her latest joy is becoming a grandmother, giving her new impetus to preserve this beautiful, productive countryside.
