Eve Cowles Tree Farm: Managing invasive plants for better bird habitat

The Eve-Cowles family have been outstanding stewards of their family woodlands for more than 40 years and were recently granted the Northeast Tree Farmers of the year award. Join the Eve-Cowles, consulting forester Mike Barry and naturalist Laurie Saunders for a walk in the woods focused on forest management, invasive plants and bird habitat. Participants will learn how invasive plants impact woodland birds and best practices in invasive plant treatment.

FLT Volunteer Trail Crew: Walnut Hill Woods

We need your help to improve the trails at FLT’s Walnut Hill Woods property! Come lend a hand, have fun, and give back to the land. We will clear a new trail and work to improve existing trails. Wear sturdy pants, boots, and work gloves. Bring water, snacks and dress for the weather. We will use hand tools only. Please bring loppers, bowsaws, rakes, shovels and picks if you have them. All are welcome!
