Mary Robertson Torras Founders Fund

Established at her retirement from the Franklin Land Trust Board of
Directors in September 2005, The Mary Robertson Torras Founders Fund honors Mitzi's longstanding generosity to the Land Trust.  As a founding director, Mitzi has frequently stepped forward to help close a project, or to provide support in lean times.  Her wise counsel and her patronage have been of equal significance.

The fund will continue to grow through wise investment and honorary giving
in the future.  It will be used as a "rainy day" fund, supplemental to
monies annually budgeted as such, to help us meet unexpected operating
contingencies.

Raising operating funds can be very challenging for a non-profit entity, yet
it's critical that we are able to keep our doors open so that we can
continue to be here to do the work that has come to be expected of us.  We
are considerably more solvent and well-budgeted than in our early years, but
just as Mitzi has been there for us since the Land Trust was established in
1987, the Mary Robertson Torras Founders' Fund will be there to help us long
into the future.
