Environmental groups respond to latest impact report filed by Tennessee Gas Pipeline

While Tennessee Gas Pipeline’s draft environmental impact report for its Northeast Energy Direct project is being reviewed by area groups and communities along the 430-mile-long path, groups have been responding to the proposal in general — especially environmental organizations battling the proposed roughly $5 billion project. 

Northeast Energy Solutions, a coalition of land-trust organizations in the region including Franklin Land Trust and the Massachusetts Land Trust Coalition, has written to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission pointing out that between its July 30, 2014, filing of agreements it has made with potential customers for the Northeast Energy Direct project and its March 5 statement, Tennessee Gas Pipeline has not appreciably increased the amount of gas shipments it plans for the project.    Read More
