Valley Gives Day

What if we could make a lasting impact on the land in a single day?

There are so many reasons why western Massachusetts is a wonderful place to live, work, visit, and raise a family, but many of them stem from the incredible resource that feeds, nourishes, and sustains us all—the land.

Valley Gives Day is a day to be thankful for the collective gifts that the land of western Massachusetts provides-- our wild rivers, rolling green hills, fertile farm land, and community of people who appreciate such bounty. Whether it’s an exhilarating hike, a contemplative fishing trip, or a fruitful visit to the local farmstand, conserved land nourishes our bodies and souls every day.

The Franklin Land Trust works to preserve the places that provide these priceless experiences for everyone. We conserve land so that cold water fish streams remain pristine and untouched; so that kids will have a new place to explore the woods; so that vital farmland will stay in farmers’ hands yielding food and crops.

Will you help us continue to conserve this beautiful land?

For 30 years the Franklin Land Trust (FLT) has worked with landowners and communities to conserve farms, woodlands, vistas, historic landscapes, and natural areas that make western Massachusetts a such a wonderful place.

To date we have permanently conserved over 30,000 acres, among them some of western Massachusetts’ signature landscapes:scenic areas along the Mohawk Trail, including Flagg Mountain; the view from the top of Mt. Sugarloaf; the Connecticut River and Deerfield River corridors; Ashfield Town Common; and north and south meadows of Old Deerfield.

Conserving these assets benefits our health, our economy and our community.

Your gift ensures that we can continue to conserve the places that make this area special, for today and for future generations.

As an added bonus, your gift TODAY will be matched by a generous donor - essentially doubling the impact you will make in the life of our communities and in our shared future with the land.

Thank you for conserving the hills and valleys of western Massachusetts!
