
Cliff & Barn Swallow Workshop – FRIDAY, June 26, 2015
Visit a bustling colony of Cliff and Barn Swallows in the Patten District, where Mara Silver has been working to boost the numbers of these birds for several years. Now home to Cliff Swallows for several consecutive summers in addition to its historic complement of Barn Swallows, the Patten Hill Farm colony offers an opportunity to observe both species rearing young in close quarters and particularly to note their inventive use of man-made and bird-made nests. Swallow expert Mara Silver and Land Steward Josh Morse will be in attendance to discuss the history of swallow habitat improvement work at Patten Hill and in the area.
When: Friday, June 26th, 10 am – 11:30 am.
Where: Meet at FLT”s 5 Mechanic St. office, carpool to field site
