We are immersed in addictive technology that was designed to hold, and sell, our attention. How do we take back our most precious resource and refocus on the world around us? In this book discussion group, held on the second Thursday of each month starting January 12th at 4pm, we will examine this question together, using “How To Do Nothing: Resisting The Attention Economy” by Jenny Odell as our guide.

“How To Do Nothing” provides a nuanced analysis of what causes us to become so hooked on the internet, and who it actually benefits when we spend too much time online (hint: unless you work in the upper echelons of a tech company, it’s probably not you).

The discussion group will take place over Zoom, and our first session will focus on Chapters 1 & 2 of the book, which can be purchased from most online retailers, including Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
