Mary Lynn Sabourin, CFRE
Deputy Director & Director of Philanthropy
Mary and her family have lived in the hill towns for the past 26 years. As Director of Philanthropy for the Franklin Land Trust, Mary has been with the organization for the past sixteen years.
Prior to joining FLT Mary was a small business owner operating a computer-technology consulting and web design company. Active in her community and in the region, Mary served 20 years in municipal service. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, serves on the Board of Women in Philanthropy, and the Greater Shelburne Falls Area Business Association.
Mary has been recognized throughout the area for her efforts as a top fund-raising professional in the Valley Gives Campaign. She has been a guest presenter and has appeared on television and print media in her work at FLT.
Her co-development, branding and staging of the D2R2 cycling event bring international interest and attention to our region and conserved lands while uniquely telling the Franklin Land Trust story of a balanced, community-based approach to land and resource management.
Her skills in philanthropy, donor development, community events and branding of FLT earn her top marks among her peers and community leaders and she recently achieved the credential of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International which include tenure in the profession, education, and demonstrated fundraising achievement. They have also passed a rigorous written examination testing knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive, and have agreed to uphold Accountability Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights.
