Walnut Hill Woods Volunteer Day, Friday, July 29, 2016
Franklin Land Trust Volunteer Day on Walnut Hill Woods Trail, Buckland
Friday, July 29th
10am-2pm
Walnut Hill Woods, Buckland
Come help the Franklin Land Trust (FLT) on the Walnut Hill Woods Trail in Buckland, MA on Friday July 29th from 10am-2pm. Work alongside
FLT staff and a Student Conservation Association (SCA) Massachusetts AmeriCorps trail crew on some of the finishing touches to a new 1-mile trail.
Bring water, a pack lunch, and clearing or digging tools if you have them. Volunteers will meet at the Mary Lyon Church, 17 Upper St, Buckland
at 10am.
The trail is made possible with funds from DCR’s Recreational Trail Program through a grant awarded to Franklin Land Trust in partnership with the
Student Conservation Association’s Massachusetts AmeriCorps program. Walnut Hill Woods is a 92-acre property, generously donated to FLT in 2012
by Stephen Hale. The trail and property will be open to the public upon completion of the trail later this year.
The Franklin Land Trust works with people to conserve the farms, forests, and other natural resources significant to the environmental quality, economy
and rural character of our region.
