Bobcats, Bears, Moose, Mink & more: Wildlife in Our Woods, May 24, 2016
Join naturalist Sue Morse for a fascinating, fun, and visually stunning slide show and lecture about wildlife in western Massachusetts. From wood frogs
to moose, learn about the mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles that live here, as well as the habitat they need to survive and thrive. Sue’s presentation
will address the importance of mast; the seeds, fruits and buds from a wide variety of trees and shrubs, all needed to serve wildlife as a critical
source of food the whole year round. Sue Morse, founder of Keeping Track, an organization devoted to training professional biologists and citizen scientists
in wildlife monitoring skills, will illustrate how we can enhance our understanding and appreciation for our local wildlife while protecting critical
wildlife habitat in our woods through forest management.
