  • Guyette Farm, Pleasant Street, Plainfield, MA

  • October 20, 2020 • 3-5pm

  • Free

Join FLT and MassWildlife for a tour of young forest habitat at FLT’s Guyette Farm Conservation Area. See first-hand how young forest habitat benefits birds and other wildlife, hear how active forest management can help wildlife species in decline, and learn about MassWildlife’s upcoming habitat project at the Ashfield Hawley Wildlife Management Area.

FLT’s Head Land Steward Will Anderson will lead a walk through the Guyette Farm habitat harvest completed in 2019 through a Wildlife Habitat Grant from the MassWildlife. Biologist Marianne Piche will talk about wildlife species in decline and what you can do to help. Fletcher Clark, MassWildlife Habitat Biologist, will discuss the upcoming habitat project at the Ashfield Hawley WMA.

This will be a moderate hike over uneven terrain. Participants will be asked to wear masks and maintain a 6ft distance from other people. Pre-registration is required. Contact Linda Alvord at lalvord@franklinlandtrust.org to register.
