Mary Lynn Sabourin, CFRE

Interim Executive Director

Mary joined the Franklin Land Trust in 2002 as the Assistant to the Executive Director. She soon moved into Fundraising, building a Development program for the Franklin Land Trust from the ground up and in 2008 became the organization’s first Development Director. In 2018, Mary met all the rigorous requirements for the international certification of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and passed the CFRE Exam which assessed her knowledge and qualifications in six key domains: Current and Prospective Donor Research; Securing the Gift; Relationship Building; Volunteer Involvement; Leadership and Management; Ethics, Accountability, and Professionalism. Mary served as the Deputy Director from 2020 – 2022.

Active in her community and in the region, prior to her work with FLT, Mary served 20 years in municipal service. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, serves on the Board of Women in Philanthropy, and is a past board member of the Greater Shelburne Falls Area Business Association.

Mary has been recognized throughout the area for her efforts as a top fund-raising professional in the Valley Gives Campaign. She has been a guest presenter and has appeared on television and print media in her work at FLT. Her co-development, branding, and staging of the D2R2 cycling event bring international interest and attention to our region and conserved lands while uniquely telling the Franklin Land Trust story of a balanced, community-based approach to land and resource management. Her skills in philanthropy, donor development, community events and branding of FLT earn her top marks among her peers and community leaders.
