Location & Parking: Parking is available off of Willis Howes Rd. in Ashfield. Look for a sign and note that 4 wheel drive is necessary to reach the parking area. The road is not plowed in the winter. The parking area is delineated by logs near the old homestead and barn foundations.
Property Management: A series of old trails take the visitor to a large wetland complex and old beaver dams. Currently the Northern Hardwood stand that dominates the property between Willis Howes Rd. and Spruce Corner Rd is being managed as a Sugarbush and is rented to a local operator. The property continues west of Spruce Corner Rd. into the Basset Meadow area which surrounds the Swift River. Currently FLT is in the process of developing a management plan for the property.
